We've put together a short overview of the three croquet balls currently approved for tournament play worldwide. Two are made in Australia, one comes from Taiwan, and most Queensland clubs are already playing with one of the Dawson range. Three things we're curious about:
- Which ball does your club use, and how long have you been on it? Even a one-liner helps. Other clubs comparing options find your experience worth more than any write-up.
- Has anyone played with Sunshiny CQ-16 balls? They're the imported option from Taiwan, fully WCF-approved, and there's no Australian retailer. First-hand impressions would be useful.
- Has anyone tried the new Invictus? Robert Fletcher released them in 2024. WCF-approved, made in Melbourne, but at A$990 a set they're the premium option. Anyone played with them in a match?
CAQ isn't recommending a ball. Every club's situation is different. But the more experience clubs can share, the better the next club's decision.
