Which game do you think is best to engage new players: Aussie, Golf? And should we stick with 'proper' games, or use party-game versions?

We're likely to have a mixture of competitive types and social types, so I think a game with a beginning and end ... and a winner! ... is not a bad way to get everyone involved. We're introducing our women and girls to the "mallet hits ball, ball goes through hoop/gate concept", so what ever version your members enjoyed when they were starting out should do the job. We don't need to focus on rules, but tactics are always appreciated when I'm taking people for the first time. The focus will be on engaging and having fun ... and earning that cup of tea.

Some people have had enough after 5 minutes, some will play all morning.
