What's changing for CAQ clubs and members, day by day, in plain terms.
Wednesday 21 October 2026
The new myCroquet sign-in screens are now live. They were redesigned to be easier for older members: the button now reads "Send sign-in code", and you can paste the emailed code straight into the boxes instead of typing each number. Codes come by email only, not by text message. The screens keep the familiar photo and logo, and the button to leave now reads "Sign out".
Club presidents, secretaries and treasurers now have the Membership card on their myCroquet home page, and eight of them were given it today.
The Come & Try card has been taken off the myCroquet home page for the 27 club office holders who had it.
The Club Hub specials page has a new look, with neater cards and a tidier layout.
A new news article on staying safe online is now up on Club Hub.
Tuesday 20 October 2026
On a club's Member List in myCroquet, the list now opens on Active members, including people who play at your club as their second club. The separate "Second club" tab has been removed, so everyone active at your club is in one place.
Three clubs asked for changes to their club details in myCroquet, and those changes are now made. Toombul and Bundaberg have been emailed to let them know.
Monday 19 October 2026
myCroquet now has refereeing switched on for everyone on the referee register. If you hold a refereeing qualification, you will find the refereeing section available when you sign in.
CroquetClaude processed two membership changes for Toowoomba: it approved a new member and recorded a member who has stepped away from the club.
Sunday 18 October 2026
About 800 more photos in the news gallery now have written captions describing what's in them. The order in which ten clubs are listed alongside the photos has also been updated.
In myCroquet, 32 member records showed birth dates that could not be right, such as dates in the future or ones that would make the member impossibly old. Those dates have been cleared, so a blank now shows instead of a wrong date. Members can enter their correct birth date when they next update their details.
Saturday 17 October 2026
Thirty-seven world championship game videos in the croquet video library had stopped playing. They now point to working copies on croquetvideos.com, so those games can be watched again.
Friday 16 October 2026
Old public pages about the earlier Treasurer tool have been taken down. That includes its page on Club Hub, the CroquetClaude blog post and its screenshots, and the links that pointed to them. The club Books system is now the one place for club bookkeeping.
The news site no longer shows unfinished draft stories. Wade Hart decided that only finished stories should appear, so 75 drafts were taken off the live site.
Stories about events run by clubs now appear in the Events section of the news site, not in Around the Clubs.
Thursday 15 October 2026
The news editor on Club Hub went live today. Clubs can now write and publish their own news stories, and a story can be as short as a few lines. Before launch, every part of the editor was tried out on the live site and passed.
Comments on Club Hub are easier to read. Each comment now sits in its own light box, with the writer's name in bold at the top.
Comments that mention Croquet Association Queensland's own offers, or link to its pages, are no longer held back for checking. Comments about Hoopla also get a lighter check, so they appear sooner.
When member details come across from RevSport into myCroquet, they now only fill in gaps. Details already in myCroquet are no longer written over. An address is treated as one whole, so a record can't end up with half an old address and half a new one.
Wednesday 14 October 2026
Brisbane South Region 10+ Singles has been added to the calendar. It will be played at Wynnum on Sunday 21 March 2027.
The Wynnum 10+ Singles now shows under its plain name, without the "GC" on the end.
New members who had joined through RevSport but were not showing up in myCroquet have now come through. Twelve members were added, including two who had been left out by mistake. Members are also now matched to the right club when a club's exact name is used, rather than being sent to a similarly named club.
The Point Lookout club badge and logo now appear on Club Hub.
Tuesday 13 October 2026
On the volunteer job board, one offer that had been posted by mistake has been taken down, along with seven test offers that should never have been on show. The list now holds only real offers.
On the coaching helper page, each player's row now shows what they last learnt. The game card has been hidden from that page for now.
News stories on Club Hub are now filed under a category chosen from what each story is actually about, rather than a general catch-all label. Stories shared to Facebook can now keep their emoji.
Monday 12 October 2026
The coaching training website now signs you up with a single button. The name and club boxes no longer appear at sign-up. You can add them later under Your details.
On the same site, the button and its messages now say Start Training.
Sunday 11 October 2026
The online club directory has been refreshed. Playing times have been tidied for many clubs, five clubs now link to their real websites, and one club's playing time is now hidden.
Club logos in the directory were checked, and 27 clubs now show a better logo.
Handicap records have been updated. Eighteen golf croquet handicaps sent in by a club president have been entered, and handicap forms were entered exactly as written. A player's first golf croquet handicap of 3 has also been recorded.
Logging out from the login badge now works properly for people who first signed in through myCroquet.
At Wade Hart's request, 58 nine-wicket videos have been removed from the croquet video collection. A copy of each was kept first.
The graph page on croquetclaude.com has been retired, and its link has been taken off the site.
Saturday 10 October 2026
The Croquet Videos site now shows each video's real original publish date. More than 2,200 videos have their correct dates, so they sort and appear in the right order.
Video titles on the Croquet Videos site have been tidied up. Repeated titles have been fixed so no two videos share the same name, and hashtags have been removed from titles.
When you browse the Croquet Videos site, it now shows videos held on the site itself first. The contact form on that site has been turned off.
The Wynnum Bayside Cup on 7 November 2027 is back on the croquetqld.org events calendar.
Emails sent from the association now include an Events Calendar link in the signature, which takes readers straight to the events page on croquetqld.org. Two out-of-date signature panels have been removed: the old Events panel and the Coaching & Refereeing panel, which pointed to pages that no longer exist.
Friday 09 October 2026
On the news site, the menu on phones now shows just News, Around the Clubs and Events, with the other links moved to the bottom of the page. Before this, the menu was a strip that ran twice the width of the screen and had to be scrolled sideways.
A new Club Hub guide on finding and keeping good volunteers is now up, written by Wade Hart. Guides can now show the writer's name at the top, and this is the first to do so.
Several dozen older Hoopla newsletter stories were rewritten and put back online, each checked against its original sources. Tables became plain sentences, quotes that could not be traced to a real person were taken out, and real quotes were put in where they existed. Wade Hart's own words were kept exactly as he wrote them.
The Hoopla story on Southport now uses Southport's own photos, including the cover. Before this, three of its pictures showed other clubs.
The Hoopla story on falls and balance now links to the Falls Prevention Alliance's live website, and its health facts were brought up to date. A story on using technology at the club now has new screenshots that match what members see today.
The Hoopla story on croquet and dementia has had its facts corrected, as have several other health and club stories.
The croquet video site, croquetvideos.com, now has its own pictures and a new page header.
Thursday 08 October 2026
The law guides on Club Hub were checked against a corrected list of the legal duties clubs carry, and seven were republished to match. They are the committee legal duties guide, the guides on how a committee works, keeping volunteers, civil liability, the model rules and the Associations Act, and the guide on member addresses and what the rules require.
The guide "Do members need to sign in?" was cut down to the parts that matter. It still links to the five Acts it relies on, alongside links to the relevant sections.
The summer water guide, "Is your water system ready for summer?", was shortened. The sections on the law and on water restrictions are kept in full.
The guide to free power plans for clubs was tightened. Five lines that no outside source backed up were removed, along with the pictures.
The blue card and child safety guide was edited down to make it shorter and easier to read.
The guide to what your club's insurance covers and the "new treasurer, start here" guide were republished after Wade Hart checked every claim in them. Their titles and summaries were also corrected.
The lawn care guides were polished. The summer lawn guide now says the September feed is at the fairway rate and should be watered in the same day. The guide to fertiliser numbers (N-P-K) now says only what its source found: potassium did not help with wear, drought or cold.
The guide to the Feedback button in myCroquet was reworked and made shorter. A member's association number and a screenshot showing his full name were removed to protect his privacy.
Several guides were rewritten in plainer words and republished. They are the guide to the handicap card in myCroquet, the guide to adding CroquetClaude to SmartyGrants, a guide on keeping AI helpers on task, and a step-by-step guide to the news button with a picture for each step.
The comparison of the old RevSport homepage with the new one was rewritten. It now gives the figure that 16 of 18 AI answers drew on the new page. Old screenshots were also removed from the club profile guide.
Wednesday 07 October 2026
The handicap card on myCroquet can now be edited in place. Changes save straight away, and a waiting row shows only to that club's captain.
A new Club Hub guide, "The handicap card is live on myCroquet", is now published in the myCroquet section of the guides. The part for captains is kept short: one picture and two lines.
Committee members were emailed the link to the live handicap card.
A new article is up in the committee section: "Don't make good volunteers work harder because of bad members".
More Club Hub guides have been rewritten in plain, simpler words and are live. Several committee and law guides are among them, covering the treasurer's and president's duties, keeping financial records, and running raffles with a community bank. Each one was checked line by line against the law it explains. Lawn care guides were also rewritten, including understanding fertiliser, liquid iron and getting lawns through a hot, dry summer. So were guides on advertising, El Niño and your courts, and one login across the CAQ sites.
The old page "Your member list is ready" has been retired. Its address now takes you to the September 2026 membership update, and links to it have been fixed.
The how-to guides are now tagged by the system they teach, so guides about the same system can be found together.
On 11 guides, the author's name appeared twice: once at the top and again in the text. It now appears only once, at the top.
Tuesday 06 October 2026
On myCroquet, 156 member handicap records that had mistakes have been corrected and checked.
Handicap captains now have a captain card on myCroquet. Tournament handicap sheets can now be entered into myCroquet, so results recorded on paper at a tournament go into members' handicap records.
The tournament handicap record form now has room for 16 players per sheet instead of 12. The short instructions sit in a grey box at the top right of the form.
Committee members can now use the new version of the policy review on myCroquet. It has 39 questions, and each question has its background story beside it. A single list gathers 11 smaller jobs.
Sunday 04 October 2026
Two Club Hub guides have been rewritten in plainer language and are now live: the guide to lending club mallets, and the treasurer's guide to the club's yearly obligations.
The treasurer's guide now states clearly that, under the Associations Incorporation Act, the penalty for missing a required lodgement can fall on each of the secretary, the president and the treasurer, not only on one of them. Wade Hart checked and approved the wording.
Eleven more Club Hub articles were rewritten to read more clearly and are now live.
Fourteen players' handicap records in myCroquet were corrected so they match the official handicap figures held in RevSport.
Saturday 03 October 2026
A new short video is now on croquetvideos.com. In it, CroquetClaude explains how it checks its own work twice before anything goes out.
On the policy review page, the "Big improvement" group now sits above the "Simplify" group. Wade Hart asked for this order, and the live page has been updated to match.
The note tool on club websites has been improved. A note now stays on the right page after you move to another page. Any half-written note is kept when you move between pages or come back to the page later, and a note can no longer be pinned twice.
Friday 02 October 2026
The committee's policy review page is now live in a simpler, less cluttered layout. All ten committee members have been given access and emailed to let them know. The proposed wording changes are sorted by type and by importance, so the most significant ones come first.
The treasurer and committee guides on Club Hub now use the terms from the current Associations Incorporation Act. Clubs are described as small, medium or large, and the guides now say correctly who signs off the accounts for medium and large clubs. They also explain when another law, such as liquor licensing, can require an audit.
A new Club Hub guide answers the question "Can our club hold just an email address for each member?" It comes with two drawings and the final report as a PDF you can download. The committee has been emailed, and this matter is now closed.
Members can now leave private notes on Club Hub and news pages by holding Alt and right-clicking. Notes you haven't sent yet are kept on your own device until you send them.
Thursday 01 October 2026
Club Hub has a new article, approved by Wade Hart: "From one email, CroquetClaude did 7 jobs in 5 parts of myCroquet." It shows how one club newsletter email became a news story, photo gallery entries, calendar dates and more, with drawings beside each job.
The Bribie Island club's August and October newsletters are now in the Club Hub history archive.
Bribie Island's upcoming events from its October newsletter are now on the members-only calendar in myCroquet. There are 15 dates in all.
The myCroquet calendar is now open to everyone. Before today, only the members testing it could use it.
Small photos inside news stories now show at their real size, centred, with the caption lined up underneath. Before, they were stretched across the whole column.
Photo captions in news stories no longer show stray brackets around the photographer's credit when the credit runs over two lines.
On the page for volunteers who lend their computers to help train the croquet-playing computer, you can now watch a game your own device played. The page also shows a real croquet lawn, a card for each computer player with its rating, and a plainer form guide.
Wednesday 30 September 2026
The events calendar is now live on the Croquet Association Queensland website at croquetqld.org/events, so anyone can see what is coming up across the state.
Inside myCroquet, the calendar can now show your own club's events alongside state events. It also remembers the choices you make, so it looks the way you left it next time you open it.
Committee members can now review the association's policies inside myCroquet. Each policy has a short write-up with answer buttons directly underneath, so you can read and respond in one place. An introductory email has gone out to committee members.
Committee members can now also read pages prepared for them in the committee area of myCroquet. These pages are read-only.
The association news site and Club Hub now show the same myCroquet login badge at the top of the page, so you can see at a glance whether you are logged in.
The computer croquet player now plays the stop shot and the clearance shot as Wade Hart defines them. This applies both on its website and in its training runs.
The computer croquet player's website now shows a "training now" status. Volunteers who lend their computer to train it can see what is running at that moment. Their screen stays awake while it trains, and it picks up again by itself after an update.
The bottom of the computer croquet player's website now always shows which version of the player is in use.
Tuesday 29 September 2026
Hoopla now carries a news story, "No need to sign in to play". It explains that visitors and casual players do not need to sign in to have a game.
A new guide to signing in is now live on Club Hub. Section 8 of the CAQ handbook, which covers recording visitors, has been rewritten to match it.
The state croquet calendar has been updated. The Bribie Island event date is corrected, the MSOB event is now confirmed, two club events have been approved and added, and four Darling Downs events have been added.
The Jobs Board in myCroquet now lists jobs in a set order. The job descriptions use the committee's own wording, including updated text for the Secretary and Social Media roles, and several typing errors have been fixed.
Monday 28 September 2026
"Free midday power: is it an option for your club?" looks at whether your club could use the free electricity some plans offer in the middle of the day. It includes tables and charts to help a committee decide.
"Why your club needs a history keeper" explains the value of having someone look after your club's records and memories. The two guides on club photos now link to it.
"Membership just got a new look" walks you through the updated membership screens in myCroquet, with seven short videos showing each step.
Handicaps are now live in myCroquet. A separate fix means your handicap now shows correctly on your myCroquet home screen.
Club Hub has a new "New treasurer? Start here" page for anyone taking on the treasurer's job.
On the Grounds section of Club Hub, the lawn care guide now appears first, so it is easier to find.
In the guide to understanding fertiliser, the link to the fertiliser maker's information sheet had stopped working because the company changed its web address. It now goes to the right page.
Sunday 27 September 2026
Confirming a change of email address in myCroquet now works. A live test found the confirmation step was failing, and this was fixed the same day, so the confirmation link sent to your new address now completes the change.
Friday 25 September 2026
The Twin Rivers championship story is now published on the news site, with photos from the event added to the gallery.
Stories sent in by clubs now carry a byline with the sender's role and their club, and appear as normal news stories.
Club stories emailed in as a reply to one of our earlier messages are now picked up for the news site. Before, they could be missed.
Members are no longer sent a reminder, or asked to confirm, for a training session that has been cancelled.
The Bamford training story has been updated.
Thursday 24 September 2026
A new guide on Club Hub shows, step by step with pictures, how to add CroquetClaude as a helper on a grant application in SmartyGrants. It is linked from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant page.
Club websites and logos have been filled in on myCroquet for clubs that were missing them, and many club logos there have been replaced with clearer, better-looking versions.
The AGM nomination demonstration videos have been remade. They now have a spoken voice-over and show the real tick-box panel members will see. The first video had left out the step where you tick to email the Secretary. That step is now included, and the closing screen has been shortened.
Wednesday 23 September 2026
The Treasurer's Guide to Banking and EFTPOS is now on Club Hub. It covers club banking and taking card payments, and it appears among the latest guides on the home page.
Every factual claim in 74 Club Hub guides was checked, and 15 that had gone out of date were corrected. Each checked guide now ends with a "Last fact check" line showing when it was checked.
Every statement about the law in 16 Club Hub guides was checked against the law itself. The wrong ones were corrected, and each guide now links to the law it refers to, including the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024.
Club Hub has a simpler layout: six main doors, plus a side room for CroquetClaude and AI. Each group of pages links back to its door, and the footer now lists those doors instead of 14 separate sections. Two guides that sat behind the wrong door were moved to the right one.
Seven how-to guides on Club Hub now have numbered steps and clear headings. Three of them include new myCroquet screenshots and a link to the guide on adding news.
The video showing how to add a news item has been remade. It is 52 seconds long and has a new cover picture.
The story of the new Twin Rivers clubhouse is now the top story on the news site.
On the news site, every date is now shown in Brisbane time.
Volunteers who edit their club's website could not save changes, because of a fault that affected every club site. That is now fixed. Swapping a photo on a page inside a club site now works too, and visitors can again leave suggestions on club sites.
Personal names that should not have been public have been removed from four Club Hub guides, including the secretary's manual.
Tuesday 22 September 2026
Club Hub now has this daily work diary, a plain-English account of what changed on our websites and member services each day.
The AGM nominations page now explains each part of the process, and its mention of the Act links straight to the official Queensland legislation website.
The team training app now keeps your progress safely through updates and restarts. Saved scores that had been split across two records were combined, and earlier progress was restored.
You can now use the team training app on more than one phone or computer and still be recognised as the same person. You get a recovery code that links a new device to your existing record.
Recovery codes in the training app are now always complete and readable. A fault had occasionally produced a broken code; it was fixed and checked the same day.
Several pages on Club Hub had wording corrected, and typing errors in the September report were fixed.
The Club Hub guide that mentions Bendigo was reworded so it says more clearly what that event offers.
Club Hub and the CAQ news site now share a single privacy page, so there is one place to read how visitor information is handled.
Monday 21 September 2026
Club Hub now has Wade Hart's September work report, a round-up of what was done for clubs over the month.
A new guide on Club Hub explains how clubs can run raffles and apply for grants through Bendigo Community Bank.
The article on advertising for Wide Bay clubs now shows a new picture: a couple standing together, in place of the earlier drawing of a swing.
Posting a comment on Club Hub is more reliable. Some comments were being turned away with an error even though nothing was wrong with them. The check that screens each comment now works properly, so these comments go through. When a comment saves but the confirmation comes back garbled, the page no longer shows an error, so you won't be tempted to post the same comment twice.
Sunday 20 September 2026
Club officers can now use a new grants section on the CAQ systems, live from today. It brings grant opportunities together in one place, with a board for tracking each application and a log of what has changed.
The grants section already includes the current details of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (Round 127), so officers can see what that round offers without looking it up on the government portal.
Saturday 19 September 2026
The volunteer task board went live in a soft launch. It is now linked from myCroquet and from croquetqld.org, and it sends real email notices.
Volunteers who lend their computer to the team trainer page can now choose how hard it works: Off, Gentle, Balanced or Maximum. At full setting it uses about three-quarters of the computer's power. The page remembers your choice on that browser, and phones start on Gentle.
Times in the trainer page's activity feed now show in your own local time. Before, they showed in international standard time.
On the news site, photo captions now line up with the width of their photo.
The news site now shows nothing when a news source has no stories. Before, it could fill the gap with made-up articles.
Thursday 17 September 2026
The register of refereeing accreditations is now live on myCroquet, so members and club volunteers can look up who holds which refereeing accreditation.
Club volunteers who approve new members now get a reminder email when a membership application is still waiting for their approval, so applicants are not left waiting.
Wednesday 16 September 2026
The referee register in myCroquet now holds the accreditation records for 111 Queensland referees. Members and club officials can look up who is qualified to referee, and at what level.
While the referee records were being loaded, four errors in the source list were found and fixed before they reached myCroquet. One referee was listed under a misspelt name and is now recorded correctly. A referee whose level was blank now has it filled in. A Ricochet referee record that had been attached to the wrong member was removed. Two Gateball entries pointing at the wrong people were corrected, and their Gateball levels were recorded properly.
Tuesday 15 September 2026
The Club Profile questions in myCroquet have been rewritten, and the new questions are now live. Club committee people filling in their club's profile will see the updated questions, and the answers now flow through to the Croquet Queensland website.
On the Croquet Queensland website, the Events tab was showing twice in the menu. The duplicate has been removed, and the menu now looks right on both phones and computers.
All 160 current club committee members have been given the offer to have their club's calendar hosted.
A thank-you email went out to the 37 people who have filled in their club's profile in myCroquet. The email was written in Wade Hart's own words.
Two Club Hub guides have been updated, one on keeping your committee list current and one on club profile feeds. Both now have new cover pictures and include Wade Hart's edits, and the wording about a future recognition feature has been softened.
Monday 14 September 2026
Two new guides are now on Club Hub. The first explains where the information in your Club Profile ends up. The second explains why it matters to keep your club's committee list up to date, because CroquetClaude uses that list.
Sunday 13 September 2026
Club Hub's AI section has a new article about OpenAI's computer assistants, which went on to attack other websites.
When a Club Hub guide is published, any special layout it contains, such as embedded pictures or formatted sections, now comes through intact. Before this fix, those parts could show up broken or as stray code.
Saturday 12 September 2026
The events calendar on Club Hub has been brought up to date with all the approved events from the working copy. It now shows 71 approved events. Events that no longer belong were set aside rather than deleted, and nothing was listed twice.
The guides newly placed on the Club Hub front page now have cover pictures, so each one is easier to spot.
Friday 11 September 2026
The Club Hub front page has a new look. The latest guides now sit in a column down the side, a new menu across the top makes it easier to move around the site, and each guide shows the date it was published.
The myCroquet guides no longer show an empty space where a video was meant to go. Each basic guide now ends with a link to the next guide, so you can carry straight on.
The myCroquet guides now say who can use the club management features: the club president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer.
Thursday 10 September 2026
The guide explaining that the myCroquet member list is ready now includes the five short myCroquet demonstration videos and the full walkthrough video, so you can watch each step without leaving the page.
A new guide compares club websites on RevSport with the new club homepages, showing before and after how each appears in Google and in AI answer tools. It includes side-by-side comparison tables and real screenshots, and uses the text as edited by Wade Hart.
The comparison guide also has a new paragraph explaining that Hoopla articles are designed to feed into AI answers. Its heading photo, which had gone missing, has been restored, and a broken sentence in the text has been corrected.
The member-list guide now has a headline picture at the top. Its newsletter cover image has been replaced with a real photograph in an ink-drawing style, and the cropping of the small preview picture has been fixed.
Club Hub now shows a short notice that the site is still being developed. Members who arrive straight from the myCroquet launch email go directly to the page without seeing the notice.
Videos inside articles now display wider than the text column, so they are larger and easier to see.
The President's letter in the newsletter now has an ink illustration and the real myCroquet logo.
Wednesday 09 September 2026
On the news site, the invitation to send in your own story now appears as a clear notice band across the top of the page, beneath the masthead, so it is easier to spot. Its wording was also updated at Wade Hart's request.
On the form for sending in a news story, the boxes for your name, club and email now come after the story box, so you can start with the story itself.
On the same form, the cover photo now has a visible maroon border, so you can see at a glance which picture will lead your story.
A training story on the news site was updated.
