What Livingstone Shire Council publishes about water restrictions for sports grounds, as read on 30 October 2026. The council publishes six Water Conservation Levels, each as a short PDF.

What the rules say

For "Bowling greens, golf greens only, turf cricket pitches":

  • Level 1: "Restrictions as for private gardens for potable water." and "No restrictions for recycled water or bores."
  • Levels 2 to 5: "Restrictions as for private gardens." and "Exemption required otherwise." and "No restrictions for recycled water or bores."
  • Level 6: "Restrictions as for private gardens." and "No restrictions for recycled water or bores." At Level 6 the private gardens rule is "No outside use of potable water allowed."

For "Council parks, gardens & sports grounds" each level says: "Restrictions as for private gardens for potable water." and "No restrictions for recycled water or bores."

Croquet is not named, so which of these rows applies to a croquet court is not stated.

In force now

The council's page says: "No permanent water conservation measures are currently in place. The below Water Conservation Levels (restrictions) will be implemented when needed."

Exemption or permit

Levels 2 to 5 say "Exemption required otherwise". How to apply for one is not stated in the documents read. The council's phone numbers are 4913 5000 and 1300 790 919, and its email is enquiries@livingstone.qld.gov.au.

Tank, bore and recycled water

Each level says "No restrictions for recycled water or bores." Rainwater tanks are not stated in these rows.

Where a point above is marked not stated, the documents listed below were checked on 30 October 2026 and say nothing on it. The council can say how the rules apply to the club's courts.
