What Rockhampton Regional Council publishes about water restrictions for greens and sports grounds.

CAQ clubs in this council area: Gracemere and Rockhampton Mallet Sports.

The council's plan has a rule for "BOWLING GREENS, GOLF GREENS ONLY, TURF CRICKET PITCHES". Croquet is not named.

The plan says "No restrictions for recycled water or bores".

On 30 October 2026 the council said: "There are currently no water restrictions within the Rockhampton Region."

What Rockhampton Regional Council publishes about water restrictions for sports grounds, as read on 30 October 2026. The council's water business is Fitzroy River Water. Its Drought Management Plan of 2009 is the newest plan found on the council's website; whether a newer one exists is not known.

What the rules say

The plan has six levels. For "BOWLING GREENS, GOLF GREENS ONLY, TURF CRICKET PITCHES" it says:

  • Level 1: "Restrictions as for private gardens" and "No restrictions for recycled water or bores".
  • Levels 2 to 6: the same, with "Exemption required otherwise" added.

For "COUNCIL PARKS & GARDENS & SPORTS GROUNDS" it says, at every level: "Restrictions as for private gardens for potable water" and "No restrictions for recycled water or bores".

Croquet is not named, so which of these rows applies to a croquet court is not stated. The plan sets out the private garden rules for each level.

In force now

The council's notifications page says: "There are currently no water restrictions within the Rockhampton Region." It showed the Rockhampton Barrage at 96.82%, "Last Updated 23 October 2026".

Exemption or permit

The plan says: "Council may grant exemptions to restrictions at each restriction level if it considers that reasonable grounds for such exemptions have been presented to it in writing on the application form in Appendix 1 to this plan." It adds that "all approved exemptions will automatically be withdrawn when the level of restriction change", unless the approval letter says otherwise.

Tank, bore and recycled water

For greens and for council sports grounds, the plan says: "No restrictions for recycled water or bores". Rainwater tanks are not stated in these rows.

Where a point above is marked not stated, the documents listed below were checked on 30 October 2026 and say nothing on it. The council can say how the rules apply to the club's courts.
