What Western Downs Regional Council publishes about water restrictions for sports grounds, as read on 30 October 2026.
What the rules say
The council's Water Restrictions Procedure (Version 4, dated 13 February 2019) has three levels: Normal, Conservation and Emergency. For "Sporting facilities and schools" it says, at all three levels: "As per an approved Water Efficiency Management Plan".
The council's public notice gives the general watering times at the Normal level: "All watering devices allowed between Midnight - 9am and 4pm - Midnight". Odd or unnumbered properties water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and even-numbered properties on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The notice says "A total outside water ban will continue to apply on Mondays to all Water Restriction levels." Whether a club with a plan follows these times or its plan is not stated.
In force now
The council's water page says: "As of midnight Thursday 18 December 2025, Council's Water Restrictions apply as follows". It lists Dalby under Normal.
Exemption or permit
The council's water page lists a "General Water Exemption" for activities that include Community Projects, Business and New Turf. For these it says: "please contact Council on 1300 COUNCIL (1300 268 624) or visit one of our Customer Service Centres." How a club gets a Water Efficiency Management Plan approved is not stated in the documents read.
Tank, bore and recycled water
The council's water page says: "Water restrictions are applicable to all properties connected to a Council water supply, including potable (drinking quality) and non-potable (not for drinking) supplies." Private rainwater tanks and bores are not stated.
Where a point above is marked not stated, the documents listed below were checked on 30 October 2026 and say nothing on it. The council can say how the rules apply to the club's courts.
