Volunteers and helpers keep our clubs running, without them there would be no croquet. From the committee members setting the direction, to those marking lines, helping in the kitchen, organising events, or coaching newcomers, volunteers truly are the heartbeat of our sport.

Without the generous contribution of time, skills, and energy from volunteers, most clubs simply wouldn't exist, let alone thrive.

    Why Do People Volunteer?

People step up for all sorts of reasons:

    • To give back to the community or support a sport they love.
    • To make new friends and connections (that great club social life!).
    • To learn new skills or gain experience.
    • Simply because they enjoy helping out!

Understanding these motivations helps us create a club environment where people want to get involved and feel valued for their contribution.

This section provides guides and resources on how we can best attract, welcome, support, and recognise our amazing helpers.
