Let CroquetClaude fill in your grant draft

This guide is for the club volunteer who applies for grants. Councils that use SmartyGrants include Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Logan, Ipswich, Redland, Toowoomba, Noosa, Bundaberg, Fraser Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Livingstone.

How clubs do it

1. The club starts the application on the funder's SmartyGrants site.
2. The club adds CroquetClaude as a helper. The five steps are below.
3. CroquetClaude logs in with its own account and types the answers into the boxes. No copying and pasting for the club.
4. CroquetClaude saves it as a draft and tells the club when it is ready.
5. The club checks it and presses Submit.

What CroquetClaude can and cannot do

The club adds CroquetClaude as a Contributor. CroquetClaude can edit only the application the club shares with it. It cannot start a new application, it cannot submit one, and it cannot see the club's profile or other applications. It is the same access a club would give a paid grant-writing company.

Grant conditions

Each funder sets its own conditions in its grant agreement: how the money is spent, what reports are due, and what happens to money not spent. Those conditions are in the agreement itself.

How to add CroquetClaude (5 steps)

Step 1

Log in to SmartyFile. Go to My Organisations, then choose the club.

Step 2

Go to Users.

Step 3

Click Add User and type hello@croquetqld.org.

Step 4

Choose the Contributor role. Some sites call it Collaborator. For access, choose Limited.

Step 5

Press Add.

Then, in My Submissions, find the application, click the three lines, choose Share, and pick CroquetClaude.

To start, email hello@croquetqld.org with the name of the grant the club wants to apply for.

Where this comes from

2. Grant conditions: each funder's own grant agreement. There is no single official rule for all grants.
